BauchiThe mother of former Bauchi State Governor, Ahmad Adamu Mu’azu, Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u who died last Saturday at the age of 92 has been buried in Medina according to Islamic rites.
The grandson of Hajiya Halima, Ahmed Ahmadu Mu’azu junior announced the death of his grandmother officially to the public after a protracted illness.In the statement, Mu’azu Junior said “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un” (Verily we belong to Allah, and truly to Him shall we return).
It is with gratitude to Almighty Allah and deep sense of emotional burden, that the family of His Excellency, (Dr.) Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu (Walin Bauchi, former Governor of Bauchi State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wishes to announce the death of his mother Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u.
The sad but inevitable death occurred on 1st November, 2025 equivalent to 10th of Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 after brief illness, at the age of Ninety Two (92). She died at Saudi-German Hospital Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
She has already been buried there in line with Islamic tradition and practice.”The statement said ‘Hajiya Halima survived with a son, a large number of grandchildren and relatives. It is therefore our prayers that her soul rest in perfect peace and Al-Jannatul Firdaus be her last abode.
While soliciting for your continued prayers, accept the family’s best wishes in this period of mourning”. Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Paid condolence visit to Ahmadu Mu’azu in his residence after he returned to Bauchi from Saudi Arabia where he attended the funeral prayers for his mother.
The Governor was accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising the Deputy Governor, commissioners, and other senior government officials.Governor Bala described the late Hajiya Halima as a virtuous and exemplary mother who instilled sound moral values and discipline in her children, qualities that are evident in the life and leadership of Alhaji Mu’azu.
He said that her passing is a great loss, not only to her family but to the entire Bauchi community.
In his response, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu expressed deep appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed and his delegation for the visit and their show of solidarity during this moment of grief.
Similarly The People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi state described the death of Hajiya Halima Mama as a significant loss, one that affects not just her immediate family but also the wider community.
