The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bauchi State, has announced that the first quarter of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially close on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.
The commission made the disclosure in a public notice issued by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Aliyu Hassan Shaaba, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
According to the announcement, the closure marks the end of the initial phase of the ongoing CVR designed to enable eligible citizens to register, update their information, or transfer their voting details ahead of future elections.
INEC further revealed that following the suspension of the first-quarter exercise, the Display of the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) for claims and objections will commence on Monday, 15th December, and run until Sunday, 21st December 2025.
The display exercise will take place across all 20 INEC Local Government Area offices as well as the state headquarters.
The commission urged all eligible voters, particularly those who participated in the registration or updated their information during the first quarter, to visit the designated display centers to verify the accuracy of their details.
This phase, INEC emphasized, is crucial to ensuring a clean and credible voters’ register ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In the statement, INEC reminded the public that the second phase of the CVR exercise is scheduled to resume on Monday, January 5th, 2026. “Citizens who were unable to register during the first phase are encouraged to take advantage of the next opportunity,” he said
Shaaba reiterated the commission’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and inclusiveness in the voter registration process, urging residents to participate actively in all stages of the CVR to strengthen democratic processes in Bauchi State.
