Correspondents’ Chapel NUJ Bauchi Mourns NTA Gombe Staff Killed in Road Accident

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of six staff members of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Gombe State, who lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident along the Billiri–Gombe Road on Monday.
The statement was signed by the Chairman, Ahmed Mohammed, and the Secretary, Samuel Luka, issued on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, in Bauchi
The Chapel prayed for eternal rest for the departed souls and strength for their families to bear the irreparable loss.
Chapel said it received the news of the incident with shock and profound sadness, describing the loss as devastating to the journalism profession and the nation at large.
The Chapel extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the management and staff of NTA nationwide, as well as the NUJ Gombe State Council, noting that the tragedy has plunged the media community into mourning.
Those who lost their lives in the accident were identified as Manu Haruna Kwami, Manager Administration; Zarah Umar, Manager News; Isa, an Editor; Musa Tabra, a retired Manager News; Aminu, a driver; and Adams of Startimes.
The Correspondents’ Chapel described the deceased as dedicated professionals who served the nation diligently and contributed immensely to national development through journalism.
The Chapel also prayed for the speedy recovery of Emmanuel Akila and Steven Doddo, who sustained severe injuries in the accident.
