Bauchi Govt Reconstitutes Wikki Tourists FC Management Board, Urges Fans to Remain calm

The Bauchi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has approved the immediate disengagement of the Management Board of Wikki Tourists Football Club as part of efforts to reposition the state-owned team for improved performance.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Bashir Shehu, Information Officer, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.
The approval was granted by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin, who directed the outgoing board to formally hand over the affairs of the club to a newly constituted Management Board.
The move, according to the ministry, is aimed at strengthening the administrative structure of the club and enhancing its competitiveness.
Addressing supporters of Wikki Tourists FC, Hon. Gabarin appealed for patience and understanding in view of the club’s recent performances.
He assured fans and stakeholders that the ministry is taking concrete steps to ensure a better outing for the team in subsequent matches, stressing that the welfare of players and overall management of the club remain top priorities.
In a related development, the commissioner approved the appointment of new members into the Management Board of Wikki Tourists FC. He noted that the appointments were carefully made based on merit, experience, and proven contributions within the sports sector.
The newly appointed Management Board members are: Salmanu Abubakar (Chairman), Ishaka Babamaji (Vice Chairman), Buhari Adamu Muhammed (Team Manager), Adamu Idris Pali (Secretary and Civil Servant), Dauda M. Chiroma, Bashir Ibrahim Idris,
Yahaya Idris Sulaiman, Bilyaminu Abubakar Chindo, Kabiru Mijinyawa, Yawale Inuwa, Saleh Ahmed Muhammed, Ahmed Nasiru El Sheikh, and Ali Saleh, all serving as members.
Hon. Gabarin expressed confidence that the new board possesses the capacity and commitment required to drive the club forward, restore confidence among supporters, and deliver improved results on and off the pitch.
The Ministry reiterated its resolve to continue supporting sports development in Bauchi State, with Wikki Tourists FC remaining a key symbol of pride for the state.
