Gov Bala reaffirms loyalty to PDP amid EFCC case

By Ahmed Ahmed

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has declared that no level of pressure would compel him to abandon the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the assertion while reacting to the arrest and prosecution of the Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance, Yakubu Adamu, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering and terrorism-related offences.

Speaking shortly after receiving an Ambassadorial Award on Safety and Management at the Government House, Bauchi on Wednesday.

Mohammed expressed disappointment over his name being mentioned during court proceedings, despite the constitutional immunity accorded to him as a sitting governor.

He described the development as unfair and politically motivated, insisting that attempts to link his administration to the allegations were aimed at intimidation and coercion rather than justice.

According to him, his government has remained committed to transparency, development, and security, recording visible achievements across critical sectors in the state.

The governor stressed that such allegations could not overshadow the progress made by his administration, noting that Bauchi State has witnessed improved security, infrastructural development, and enhanced service delivery under his leadership.

He reaffirmed his commitment to governance, assuring residents that his administration would not be distracted by political maneuvering or external pressure.

The governor pledged to continue promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across the state, while remaining steadfast in his political principles and party affiliation. If you want it more neutral, more political, or with stronger quotes, just say the word.
