Bauchi governor wins Gas sector award

Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has bagged the award of Governor of the year for for the oil Gas sector by oil andGas Forum, in recognition of his transformational leadership and commitment to good governance.
The award, under the category of Transformational Leadership and Good Governance awards spotlights Governor Bala’s policies on inclusive development and efforts to improve the lives of Bauchi people.
Represented by the State Commissioner of Information and Communications Honourable Usman Shehu Usman Governor Bala described the honour as “a call to do even more for the people of Bauchi State, to consolidate the gains we have made, and to sustain the values of service, accountability, and transformational leadership.
”The Governor pledged that under his watch, Bauchi State will continue to implement sound policies that reflects best practices in the best interest of Bauchi and Nigeria as a whole.
In his good will message after he received the award on behalf of the Governor, the Commissioner Usman said “In Bauchi State, under Governor Bala Muhammad, efforts were made to introduce reforms that are vital to the national quest for institutional development, diversifying the economy and empowering our human resources.
Usman said the Governor has approved the establishment of Oil and gas Institute in the state which already, students have commenced skills training in various aspect of oil and Gas standing as the first of its kind in the country owned by a state government.”
Other key interventions by the government, include, governance delivery reforms, infrastructure development, Health sector reforms , educational blueprint , youth and women strategic development road map
“He said Good governance as being experienced in Bauchi state has started yielding good results. We are receiving development partners on a periodic basis, we are also, receiving investors with tangible commitments, and we are signing various human and economic MoUs covering key sectors of national life”.
Commissioner said the award, is a testament that, in Bauchi we are making good progress as being recognized by professional bodies
