The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Bauchi State Chapter, has expressed deep sympathy to journalists involved in a recent road accident while on official assignment to cover the commissioning of projects by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in the state.

In a statement signed by the Chapter’s Public Relations Officer, Tajudeen Taiwo Akintunde, the Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Wada, mnipr, described the incident as painful and unfortunate, noting that it occurred in the line of professional duty.

He acknowledged the courage, resilience, and dedication of journalists who continue to serve the public interest despite challenging and risky conditions.

The Chapter offered prayers for the injured journalists, expressing hope for their speedy and complete recovery.

It also extended solidarity to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, led by Comrade Umar Saidu, the Correspondents’ Chapel, and the affected media organisations, including Channels Television, NAN, AIT, NTA, ARISE, BATV, and BRC, as well as the families and colleagues of those impacted.

NIPR further commended the Bauchi State Government under Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, fnipr, for its prompt and compassionate response.

The Institute specifically praised the coordinated intervention of the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, and the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Reaffirming its support for the media community, the NIPR Bauchi Chapter prayed for divine healing for the injured, comfort for their families, and continued protection for journalists and media practitioners in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Institute added that the unfortunate incident should strengthen collective commitment to safety, solidarity, and mutual support among communication professionals across the state.
