The Deputy Clerk of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Yarima, has charged staff of the legislature to improve coordination, communication, and productivity as the Assembly intensifies efforts to build a more efficient and professional workforce.
He delivered the message while declaring open a two-day in-house training workshop for staff at the Assembly’s Conference Hall.
Yarima, who described the training as a historic milestone for the institution, said the initiative reflects management’s renewed commitment to equipping staff with the skills needed to support effective lawmaking and overall legislative service delivery.
According to him, the knowledge and insights gained from the workshop must translate into improved performance across all departments and units of the Assembly.
He stressed that the House leadership is focused on promoting professionalism, discipline, and institutional excellence, noting that the workshop is the first of its kind in the history of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
The Deputy Clerk commended the Department of Administration and Supplies, as well as the Training Coordination Team, for their dedication and foresight in organizing the programme, describing their efforts as central to strengthening the Assembly’s human resource base.
Yarima also expressed appreciation to the resource persons for dedicating their expertise to support the ongoing reforms within the legislature.
He emphasised that enhancing staff capacity is essential to sustaining the positive changes recorded in recent times.
Reinforcing the Deputy Clerk’s remarks, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Sama’ila Gwamna, said the efficiency of any legislative institution depends on the quality of administrative support behind it.
He highlighted that the workshop was carefully designed to tackle operational challenges such as documentation, record management, communication, and ethical conduct.
Earlier, the Assembly’s Staff Officer, Adamu Yusuf, noted that the training would blend theoretical learning with practical exercises, case studies, and interactive sessions to ensure real-time application of knowledge.
Participants expressed optimism that the training would equip them with practical skills to enhance productivity, improve coordination, and strengthen institutional capacity within the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
