Reps AKY Makama Unveils N1bn Mega Empowerment Initiative for Alkaleri–Kirfi Constituency

The member representing Alkaleri–Kirfi Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf (popularly known as AKY Makaman Duguri), has launched a comprehensive empowerment programme valued at over ₦1 billion, aimed at enhancing the economic wellbeing of his constituents.
Speaking before a massive crowd in Bauchi, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf disclosed that the intervention includes the distribution of 20 vehicles, 150 motorcycles, 100 sewing machines, 200 water pump machines, 100 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, and ₦200 million in cash support.
He explained that the beneficiaries cut across party officials from ward to local government levels, APC stakeholders in Alkaleri and Kirfi, youth and women groups, elderly citizens, persons with special needs, and other supporters who have played key roles in his political journey.
The lawmaker urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the economic progress of Alkaleri and Kirfi local governments, Bauchi State, and the nation at large.
He also appealed for patience from those who were not captured in the current phase, assuring that more empowerment initiatives are in the pipeline.In his remarks, the APC Chairman in Bauchi State, Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde, commended AKY Makama’s developmental strides, noting that this is the sixth empowerment programme he has witnessed within two years of the lawmaker’s stewardship.
Similarly, the Chairmen of APC Stakeholders in Alkaleri and Kirfi LGAs—Alhaji Adamu Umar Gokaru and Barr. Yakubu Yakubu Kirfi—praised the lawmaker’s performance, stating that no representative in the history of the constituency has matched his level of impact.
They urged him to sustain the pace.Some beneficiaries, including Alhaji Iliya Natsira, Hajiya Lami and Dan Malikin Bara, expressed gratitude for the gesture.
They pledged continued support for AKY Makama and vowed to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
