The Content Creation Committee of the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV) has described the appointment of Mrs. Fibi Kafi as the Acting Managing Director of the station as a “right choice” by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
The committee expressed confidence that her leadership would successfully steer the station through its current digital transition and into a new era of excellence.
During a congratulatory visit to Mrs. Kafi—who also serves as a member and the Secretary of the committee—the Chairman, Alhaji Babayo Mohammed, lauded her professional attributes.
Represented by Hajiya Fatsuma Mohammed, a veteran former staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the Chairman noted that Mrs. Kafi’s appointment was a testament to her commitment, dedication, and resilience.

”The committee is optimistic that the new Acting MD will deliver and move the station to greater heights. Her role as a member of this committee gives her a unique perspective on the transformation needed at BATV,” the Chairman stated.
He further highlighted that the station’s recent migration to Channel 36 is clear evidence of the ongoing transformation, a move he credited to the proactive direction of the new leadership.
Responding to the delegation, Mrs. Fibi Kafi expressed deep gratitude, noting that the committee’s work remains central to her vision for the station. She revealed that the report submitted by the committee is already being utilized by the Ministry of Information as a roadmap for the station’s development.

“The committee has done an excellent job; it has written its name in gold, and BATV will never forget its contribution,” Mrs. Kafi said.
She further appealed to the committee members—whom she described as “seasoned broadcasters”—to continue offering their wealth of ideas beyond their initial assignment to ensure the station’s sustained growth.
The six-man Content Creation Committee was inaugurated in July 2025 by the Honorable Commissioner of Information and Communication, Alh. Usman Shehu Usman. The committee was tasked with reviewing BATV’s content value and recommending innovative strategies to reposition the station as a modern, digitally-driven platform.

The committee members present during the visit included:
Alhaji Babayo Mohammed (Chairman), Hajiya Fatsuma Mohammed (Representing the Chair), Malam Nazif Sulaiman, Abubakar Abdullahi Wunti, Yakubu Yari Bawa, Musa Baba LadanAuwal Hassan and Auwal Hassan
The committee has since concluded its primary assignment, providing the blueprint currently being implemented to enhance media broadcast standards in Bauchi State.
