Sen. Shehu Buba Umar Donats N10m to Shura Council, Urges PVC Mobilisation

The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has donated ₦10 million to support the activities of the Shura Council of Bauchi State Muslim Parliament, reinforcing his commitment to community development and civic engagement.


The donation was announced during a special meeting held at Sulgad Hotel, where the senator met with members of the Ulama Council, Islamic scholars, and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the party congress.


The meeting attracted prominent clerics, including the Chief Imam of Bauchi Jumma’at Mosque, Imam Bala Ahmad Baban Inna, Dr. Bashir Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Imam Dr. Fatihi Sheikh Dahiru, Dr. Ibrahim Disina, Sheikh Shu’aibu Sambo Luti, Sheikh Muhammad Rabi’u Jordan, among others from various Islamic sects and associations.


Chairman of the Shura Council, Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi Jahun, commended the senator for the generous donation and his continued support for religious and community-based initiatives.

He praised the lawmaker’s contributions, particularly in mosque construction, establishment of Islamic schools, scholarships, and humanitarian support to the less privileged.


Scholars at the meeting highlighted the importance of selfless leadership and community service, describing the senator’s efforts as impactful and people-oriented.

They offered prayers for his continued health, success, and ability to serve.


In his remarks, Senator Umar said the gathering was also to thank Almighty Allah for the successful completion of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. He expressed appreciation to the council for its consistent support.


The senator further urged clerics to sensitise their followers on the need to obtain Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging continued collaboration to promote civic participation across the state.
