A Bauchi-based group, Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiative (PYAI), has inaugurated a youth-driven initiative to tackle unemployment and enhance grassroot development in the state.

Mohammed Hassan, Director-General of the group, said this at the inauguration of the programme on in Bauchi.

He said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between government programmes and grassroots, to ensure that development efforts translate into tangible benefits for the citizens.

Hassan said the programme was established in response to the growing need for youth empowerment, skills development and inclusive participation in governance.

He highlighted that many communities in the state required improved access to employment, education and innovation, adding the initiative would served as a platform to connect youths with such opportunities.

“PYAI is a movement of young people committed to development, unity and civic participation.

“Inspired by the leadership philosophy of Dr Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, in view of his commitment to public service and human capital development,” he said.

Hassan said the minister had provided employment opportunities to 2,777 youth and women in the state.

The gesture, he said, ensured youth inclusion in decision-making processes, economic empowerment, education and sustainable community development.

Hassan pledged to mobilise youths to ensure peaceful democratic participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He reaffirmed commitment to peaceful political engagement, democratic values and civic responsibility.
