Makama Misau Backs Buba Umar for 2027 Bauchi Governorship, Urges APC Unity
Hon. Ibrahim Makama Misau has declared his full support for Senator Shehu Buba Umar’s governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 elections, calling for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State.
Makama made the declaration on Saturday, April 30, 2026, during a meeting with APC elders, youth leaders, women leaders and grassroots mobilisers in Misau.
Presenting his own Senate nomination form, Makama emphasised the need for consultation, teamwork and early alignment within the party to secure victory in the forthcoming polls.
He described Senator Buba Umar as a tested and capable leader with the experience required to drive development in Bauchi State, noting that the time had come for the party to rally behind a credible candidate.
Stakeholders at the meeting echoed his position, stating that after extensive consultations, Buba Umar’s track record and leadership qualities make him the most suitable contender for the governorship seat.
They further observed that following Professor Ali Pate’s decision to step aside from the race, the APC must consolidate its strength around a common vision and a single candidate.
The gathering stressed that early unity in Bauchi Central would be critical in setting the pace for statewide victory in 2027.Makama urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement to ensure electoral success.
