Senator Shehu Buba Umar, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate for Bauchi State and senator representing Bauchi South, has met with the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 General Elections to strengthen unity and harmonise campaign strategies.

The meeting, held in Kano on Friday, brought together all PRP candidates contesting various elective positions in Bauchi State.

According to a statement issued by Comrade Sabo Mohammed, Adviser on Media and Communication to Senator Umar, the gathering focused on developing a coordinated campaign framework anchored on the PRP manifesto, the Electoral Act 2026, and the party’s commitment to good governance and accountability.

Addressing the candidates, Senator Umar stressed the need for collaboration among party leaders, stakeholders and aspirants, while calling for an aggressive grassroots membership drive to expand the party’s support base across the state.

The meeting was attended by three senatorial candidates, 12 House of Representatives candidates and 31 House of Assembly candidates.

Senator Umar described the turnout as a demonstration of the party’s unity, strength and readiness for the forthcoming elections.

He urged candidates to conduct issue-based campaigns and maintain political decorum, warning against hate speech, political violence, character assassination and other divisive practices.

The senator reaffirmed the PRP’s commitment to peaceful and credible elections, expressing confidence that the party’s growing popularity and unity would position it strongly for success in the 2027 polls.
