The organisation’s establishment reflects a growing recognition that sustainable development depends not only on infrastructure and policy reforms, but also on nurturing responsible and visionary leadership among young people who make up a significant share of the population.

Founded on the principles of integrity, service, inclusivity, and accountability, the movement aims to mobilise youths through structured mentorship, leadership training, teamwork, and sustained civic participation designed to influence the state’s development trajectory over the next five decades.

Speaking on the vision, Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti described the initiative as “a movement of purpose where citizens, especially younger people, can channel their passion into meaningful service, where competence stands above connections, and where shared responsibility drives real progress.

”The organisation intends to foster civic responsibility, volunteerism, and self-belief among citizens while building unity across social and professional divides.

Planned activities include town-hall dialogues, leadership workshops, neighbourhood engagement programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, and community-driven volunteer projects aimed at identifying local talents and supporting grassroots innovation.

With operational offices established across all 20 local government areas of the state, the group says it is positioned to respond to community needs while aligning with broader development aspirations.

Its leadership team has pledged transparency, professionalism, and measurable impact in advancing youth empowerment and social cohesion.

As Bauchi marks a forward-looking phase in its history, the Bala Wunti Support Organisation says it is committed to nurturing a new generation of leaders and creating sustainable pathways for inclusive growth over the next 50 years.
