Media Aides Present ‘7th Verdict’ to Zulum

The media aides to Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, have presented the seventh edition of The 7th Verdict, a compendium documenting the activities, achievements and challenges of the administration in its seventh year in office.
The 213-page publication was presented at an event attended by members of the Borno State House of Assembly, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), government officials and other stakeholders.
The publication, covering the period from May 29, 2025 to May 28, 2026, contains 21 sections comprising news reports, analyses, features, columns, commentaries, editorials, speeches and a comprehensive scorecard of the administration’s performance.
It also includes a special section on political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, while editorials from various media organisations highlight the administration’s post-conflict recovery efforts, including the repatriation of refugees and stabilisation of returnees from internally displaced persons’ camps.
The sectoral compilation features three reports on humanitarian interventions, 28 stories and discourses on security, eight on resettlement and reconstruction, and 17 on education, reflecting what the publication described as a gradual shift from humanitarian interventions to security, infrastructure and development.
Other sections focus on infrastructure, agriculture, water resources, environment, religion, culture, commerce, economic planning, civil service, appointments and activities of the Deputy Governor’s Office.
The publication also documents the activities of the First Lady, Zulum’s approach to governance, testimonies on his service delivery, awards, tributes, development partnerships and engagements of the North-East Governors’ Forum.
The presentation was led by the Acting Chief of Staff, Dr Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe, Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mustapha Ali Busuguma, and Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof Usman Tar, alongside members of the governor’s media team.
Speaking after the unveiling, Zulum attributed the achievements of his administration to Allah, saying: “Despite all my achievements, I am a human being; I have many wrongdoings. We are not perfect.”
He said his administration had executed over 1,500 projects, particularly in the water sector.
Zulum commended journalists for promoting developmental journalism and recalled their courage in accompanying him to conflict-affected communities, including Monguno, Ngala, Kala-Balge, Damboa, Chibok and Baga.
He expressed appreciation to his media aides for consistently documenting and projecting the administration’s achievements since 2019.
