PRP Governorship Candidate Buba Names Aliyu as Running Mate for 2027 Bauchi Election

The Governorship Candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for the 2027 Bauchi State Governorship Election, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has announced the selection of Rt. Hon. Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu as his running mate and Deputy Governorship candidate.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Sabo Mohammed, Adviser on Media and Communication to Senator Shehu Buba Umar.
According to the statement, the choice of Rt. Hon. Aliyu reflects Senator Umar’s commitment to building a competent, experienced, and inclusive leadership team capable of delivering purposeful governance, economic transformation, and sustainable development across Bauchi State.
Rt. Hon. Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu is a seasoned administrator, politician, and business management professional with extensive experience spanning both the public and private sectors.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Aliyu served as a Member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Azare/Madangala Constituency from 2015 to 2023 and rose to become Majority Leader of the House. During his tenure, he earned recognition for promoting effective legislation, accountability, and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
Prior to his political career, he worked in banking, finance, customer relations, and corporate administration with organizations including International Trust Bank Plc, Global Bank Plc, Intercellular Nigeria Plc, and Mutunchi Pride Nigeria Limited.
The PRP stated that the selection of Aliyu strengthens its ticket and demonstrates the party’s determination to offer credible leadership focused on youth empowerment, agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure development, economic growth, and good governance.
Senator Umar expressed confidence that the partnership would inspire hope and provide the visionary leadership required to advance Bauchi State.
The party also called on members, supporters, and stakeholders to unite behind the ticket ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
